Alamo Five Views
By Randall Stevens
In 2000, I embarked on a photographic exploration of the Alamo. I wanted to create an artwork that captures its essence from distinct perspectives. I took the five best views and gave birth to this piece. As I was crosshatching the doorway in the top right view, an unexpected image emerged—a subtle face accompanied by a cross. This unintentional revelation sent chills down my spine, as if the spirits of the past were approving of my work. It’s one of my most cherished creations and holds a place of honor in my home.
